Songza Reaches One Million Users After Just Two Months in Canada

New York’s Songza, a music streaming app that provides “a soundtrack for your life,” has surpassed one million registered users in Canada since its launch here in early August.

Songza’s app features a “Music Concierge” who streams a playlist into your ears based on the day of the week, time of day, device you are using, and situation you are in. The playlists on Songza are “thoughtfully handcrafted by a network of music experts to ensure you always get the right song for the right moment,” the company says. The app is free on the web and for Apple’s iOS.

“Songza serves the perfect expertly-curated soundtrack that makes whatever you are doing better,” said Elias Roman, Songza’s CEO. “We saw an opportunity to bring that experience to Canada and we’re thrilled to see such positive results just seventy days later.”

According to the company, Canadians spent almost 4% more time using Songza than their American counterparts. Our favourite mood to play music for was Mellow—followed by Sexual.
