Sortable’s Decision Engine Reaches Milestone of 110 Million Product Recommendations

Waterloo-based startup Sortable began with Snapsort in 2010. As of today, the startup’s decision engine has provided more than 110 million product recommendations.

Sortable allows users to compare a variety of products, such as smartphones, tablets, and televisions, by aggregrating data in a clean interface. Because the site enables buyers to make smarter purchasing decisions, the Canadian startup says that its retail partners have seen a 75% decline in product returns from those getting recommendations from Sortable.

“At Sortable our goal is simple: to make it easier for people to make the best-informed purchasing decisions,” writes Brenden Sherratt on the company’s blog. “Our users enjoy the way we combine rich data aggregation with a visually appealing interface to highlight the pros and cons of a product, and provide shoppers with an unbiased recommendation.”

Sortable offers 175,000 recommendations for day. Its top products are the Google Nexus 10 (tablet), the LG Nexus 4 (smartphone), and the Nikon D5100 (camera).
