STEP Bringing 16 Companies to SXSW in ‘Largest Lead Technology Mission’ Ever

 

 

The Saskatchewan Trade & Export Partnership is a leading a delegation of western Canadian interactive companies to attend the 21st annual South By South West Interactive Media conference.

STEP will bring 16 companies to SXSW, which takes place in Austin, Texas from Mach 7 to March 13. The delegation includes zu, Vendasta and OneStory as well as Po-Mo and Atimi Software.

“Our Government is proud to help showcase western Canadian companies at SXSW Interactive,” said the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification. “By increasing exports of Canadian technology innovations and value-added products, we’re building a strong, diverse economy and creating long-term prosperity for all Canadians.” 

Companies will be featured in the “Canada Pavilion” at the SXSW Trade Show and will partake in a matchmaking program with businesses, international interactive delegations and industry associations.

“This will be the largest STEP lead technology mission and we are excited to be providing this opportunity to companies who we feel will excel in the international marketplace,” Lionel Labelle, STEP’S president and CEO indicated.
