Stocard Launches in Canada, Allowing Users to Consolidate Their Loyalty Cards onto Smartphones

Your wallet is thick and fat and ugly and it’s not because there are a bunch of hundred-dollar bills folded neatly inside. It’s because you have a dozen loyalty cards – half of which you can’t ever seem to find when you actually need to use them.

Enter Stocard, an app that has just launched in Canada to much fanfare. The app allows you to scan the barcodes of loyalty cards, consolidating their information onto a single app in your smartphone. Goodbye, obese wallet.

Stocard has shot up the iTunes app chart in Canada, attracting more than 100,000 users in less than a week.

According to the company, 92% of Canadians belong to at least one rewards program. Further, Canadian hold an average of 6.4 loyalty cards. It’s a market ripe for a product like Stocard.

The app, which has over a million users in Europe, is available free on iOS and Android.
