Syncapse raises $3.3 Million and adds to their Board of Directors

Toronto-based social technology leader, Syncapse Corp has just added Ian Giffen to its Board of Directors as well as raised $3.3 million in private equity funding.

Michael Scissons is the President and CEO of Syncapse Corp.:

Attracting one of the top business minds in the technology industry to Syncapse’s inaugural Board of Directors is an important milestone for the company.  Ian Giffen shares our deep commitment to delivering high impact business solutions for large global brands through the effective use of social technology. Ian’s presence on our Board of Directors will help solidify our leadership position in this rapidly emerging sector.

Ian Giffen officially joins Syncapse after having advised Syncapse for the past year and assisted in the equity funding recently completed. Giffen has served on the Boards of a number of private and public companies including Macromedia Inc. and Corel Corporation Inc.

Ian Giffen:

Syncapse is extraordinarily well positioned to capitalize on the market opportunity we’re experiencing in the social media space.  Syncapse’s international presence, combined with its focused ability to provide a link between evolving technologies and sound business solutions, positions them significantly ahead of the competition in this area.

According to their press release, Syncapse will use the funding to invest in the expansion of SocialTALK, a tool that allows brands to more effectively create, publish and measure their content strategy and posting schedules. SocialTALK launched in February 2010 and continues to experience record success in its early days on the market.  Although the year is not yet 6 months old Syncapse has used the early part of 2010 to achieve several key milestones:

  • launched SocialTALK, its first enterprise-level SaaS product
  • added to Facebook’s Preferred Developer Consultant program
  • appointed Kerry Munro, former head of Yahoo! Canada, to the position of Chief Operating Officer

Techvibes congratulates Syncapse and Ian Giffen on these most recent announcements.  We look forward to watching and reporting on Syncapse’s developments for the rest of 2010.
