Terapeak’s Market Research gets the nod

eBay is retiring their Market Research product as of September 15th, 2008 and it was announced today that Victoria-based Terapeak‘s Marketplace Research will be offered as an alternative. Available to all existing eBay Marketplace Research subscribers – and to all eBay users going forward – the tool will be accessible from the eBay website and Terapeak will provide dedicated customer support.

“We are pleased to join with Terapeak to offer our customers an alternative service for eBay Marketplace Research,” said Laura Della Torre, Senior Manager, Seller Platform at eBay. “We have been working with Terapeak as a Certified Provider for several years and believe they are well suited to provide a research product that meets the needs of our customers.”

The announcement of the transfer of research responsibilities isn’t a surprise considering Terapeak’s (and parent company Advanced Economic Research Systems) longstanding business relationships with eBay. According to Terapeak/AERS CEO Fred Speckeen, most eBay sellers are already familiar with the Terapeak product. What most people don’t know is that this Victorian company was the first licensee of eBay data and provides e-commerce analytics to the larger Fortune 1000 community.

Fred Speckeen made Techvibes Digital People to Watch List in BC for 2008 and Terapeak is currently #4 on our Victoria Start-Up Index.
