Toronto-based Autovision Wireless today announced that has acquired Edmonton-based SFT Telematics. Autovision specializes in GPS tracking, anti-idling, and fleet management software, while SFT offers machine-to-machine solutions in the same space.
“We are extremely excited with the acquisition as it provides us with a wider portfolio of products and services that complement our existing product lines,” Elaine Perri, the GM of SFT said. “Our customers will benefit from the fleet management expertise that AutoVision brings to this acquisition and their depth in software development will enable us to enrich our services.”
“The acquisition of SFT will strengthen our presence in Western Canada, primarily in the Oil and Gas Industry,” said Mukhtar Rahemtulla, CEO of Autovision Wireless. “SFT’s diverse customer base will position us well as the global demand for Canada’s natural resources continues to grow.”
All SFT services will continue to be offered and the Smartfleet trademark and brand will also continue, SFT says. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
