Tuango is continuing its domination of Quebec’s group buying space. A recent offer generated well over $1 million in revenue from nearly 4,000 vouchers.
This month, Tuango ran a laser hair removal deal—$279 for one year of unlimited laser hair removal for three body parts. The deal was a steep 93% discount off the service, which could cost up to $4,000 regularly.
The web startup sold 3,996 of these deals totalling $1,114,884 in revenue. As Group Buying Canada noted, this means nearly $700,000 in revenue for the spa and more than $400,000 in revenue for Tuango. Not bad for only a couple day’s work.
Quebec seems to operate its own ecosystem when it comes to daily deals—giants like Groupon and LivingSocial just haven’t been able to effectively penetrate the local community. Tuango’s geographical focus has allowed it to carve a niche in which it exercises tremendous control of.
