Twitter is the new black, according to Kevin Rose

During his presentation at the recent Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, Digg founder Kevin Rose encouraged startups to communicate cheaply and with immediacy:

“I really believe that email communication is dead,” says Rose. “Twitter is more of a real-time communication.”

Now is a great time to launch a start-up, he declares. Less competition, argues Rose, means it will be easier to get press. Rose encourages new companies to keep their PR aggressive but as cheap as possible by doing it yourself. I follow Kevin Rose’s Twitter, and usually find his brief updates genuinely entertaining.

This conveniently segues into a plug for Techvibes on Twitter: read our rationale in Greg Andrews’ “Introducing Techvibes on Twitter.”
