U.S. teenager sells his cloud startup to Vancouver firm and snags job in the process

Washington’s Daniil Kulchenko is but 15 years old—yet he was recently negotiating the terms for selling his cloud startup to ActiveState, a Vancouver company.

Danill, who has been using HTML since age six and Perl since age nine, founded Phenona, a cloud-based platform-as-a-service for Perl developers, in 2010.

Not only did ActiveState want to buy Phenoa, they wanted Danill too, touting his amazing “vision, talent, and resources.” He is now a part-time employee for them.

Phenoa is still in beta but ActiveState has plans for it in the near future.
