Videogame industry celebrates creativity with second-annual Canadian Videogame Awards

Electronic Arts and Bioware’s Mass Effect 2 led the Canadian Videogame Awards, taking home four awards, while Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed won two.

Celebrating Canadian creativity, the 2011 Videogame Awards handed out awards for Game of the Year (ME2), Best Console Game (ME2), Best Game on the Go (Osmos for iPad), Best Audio (Assassin’s Creed), Best Social Game (Pocket God on Facebook), Innovation Award (ModNation Racers), and more.

“Congratulations to all of the winners tonight and to all of the incredible games nominated,” said Victor Lucas, host and executive producer of The Electric Playground and CVA co-founder. “The work on display at the ceremony tonight was world-class and illustrated once again that Canadian game developers are second to none when it comes to creating interactive entertainment!

A 60-minute special on the Canadian Videogame Awards is scheduled to premiere on G4 Canada on May 29.
