Wave Accounting Acquires Stock Research Tool Vuru.co

Toronto’s Wave Accounting announced this morning on their blog that they have acquired Montreal’s Vuru.

Vuru was part of FounderFuel’s inaugural cohort and launched in November 2011.

Vuru’s technology, along with its co-founders Yoseph West and Cameron Howieson, will be joining Wave’s Toronto headquarters.

Wave Accounting CTO and co-founder Jame Lochrie had this to say in his announcement, “We work really hard to build tools that take difficult things and make them easy and affordable. So when we see another company with the same sort of philosophy, we definitely take notice”.

“That’s how it happened with a free online stock research and investment tracking application, Vuru.co: They were making stock research easy, and providing much-needed investment insight for people who may not have the time or training to pore over technical financial records. That just felt right to us, so we decided to get to know them better”.

Vuru and Wave will continue to operate as separate applications for the immediate future. Cameron and Yoseph will continue to run the day-to-day operations at Vuru, and will also be bringing their expertise and guidance to some new product innovations to Wave.
