Smartphones alone have dozens of different resolutions. Throw in tablets, netbooks, notebooks, and desktops and you have thousands of possibilities.
But some remain significantly more common than others. According to recent research from Canadian startup Mobify, the most popular screen resolution—by far—is 1280 by 800 pixels, a common size for 12-inch laptops. This screen resolution represents 19% of all computer screens.
Sadly, more than 11% of people are still wielding devices with 320×480 screens, such as the earliest iPhones. In a world of 30-inch computers, 90-inch TVs, and Retina-display everything, those folks are stuck in the stone ages.
