If you’re a busy mom–who is always on the go– or expecting a baby, the last thing you need to do is spend time online, searching for activities to do with your kids or try to find the latest “it” place to go and buy a cute toy.
Well, Vancouver’s latest startup YoYoMaMa‘s plan is to be that one-stop online destination that helps mothers find that information for those living in the Lower Mainland. How does it work (I feel like I’ve seen this all before–oh wait I have, but that’s okay)? By subscribing to an email service, a daily email notification is sent out. The content is not paid for, so it’s the concept of promoting something you really like to someone you care about. Otherwise, there are dedicated emails that advertisers pay for to have displayed. You can also go to the site to read articles and find out what’s happening in the city.
What are some benefits of using the site? It’s local (Lower Mainland) and targets a very specific demo (for expecting mothers or moms). So the information is easily filtered and the advertising can be targeted. Some cool features include a commenting option and sharing the articles you like with other social media sites.
