{"id":10453,"date":"2009-06-04T11:06:00","date_gmt":"2009-06-04T07:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/?p=10453"},"modified":"2009-06-04T11:06:51","modified_gmt":"2009-06-04T07:06:51","slug":"canadian-mobile-internet-report-21-browse-the-web-check-email","status":"publish","type":"magazine","link":"https:\/\/brainstation.io\/magazine\/canadian-mobile-internet-report-21-browse-the-web-check-email","title":{"rendered":"Canadian Mobile Internet Report: 21% browse the Web &#038; check email"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nielsen-online.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right;\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3378\/3595280171_c2bc927f02_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>Nielsen Online<\/a> released their <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.nielsen.com\/nielsenwire\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/canadia_mobileq12009.pdf\">Q1 2009 Canadian Mobile Internet Report<\/a> yesterday and declared that mobile Internet adoption in Canada is reaching critical mass with 21% of mobile consumers using their mobile phones to browse the Web and access their email accounts.<\/p>\n<p>The report shows adoption in categories and sites that consumers are familiar with and leverage the immediacy of the mobile platform &ndash; portals, email, weather, news and social networking are all categories that drive early adoption for mobile internet usage.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights of the report include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mobile Internet penetration increased from 16% in Q4 2008 to 21% in Q1 2009<\/li>\n<li>There are 3.9 Million unique mobile internet users in Canada<\/li>\n<li>Top categories accessed via the Mobile Web include: Portals, email, weather, news &amp; current event and search<\/li>\n<li>Top mobile phone models in Canada: Apple iPhone 3G, BlackBerry 8100, LG Rumor Series, Motorola Razr V3 and Motorola KRZ R Series<\/li>\n<li>Windows Live Mail was the #1 site accessed on a Mobile phone in Q1 2009, with 1.4 million unique visitors. Google Search, Facebook, The Weather Network and Yahoo!
