This week saw funding across industries, from healthtech\u00a0to education to B2B software. Here are some of the stories you may have missed:<\/p>\n

GradeSlam<\/b><\/p>\n

Montreal-based <\/span>GradeSlam<\/span><\/a>, an online tutoring software, has announced a new round of funding from the Google Assistant Investment Program, Birchmere Ventures, BDC Capital, Reach Capital, and Ages Quebec.<\/span><\/p>\n

The platform is chat-based and aims to provide free, 24-hour tutoring and learning support for students. GradeSlam plans to use this financing to introduce a voice-based platform.<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Voice technology is the next-generation interface. After running countless focus groups, it became evident that students from a younger age were asking voice assistant for help with their homework,\u201d says Philip Cutler, CEO of GradeSlam. \u201cAs leaders in personalized learning, it\u2019s our responsibility to find new ways to leverage different technologies. MediaValet<\/b><\/p>\n

MediaValet<\/span><\/a>, a provider of digital asset management software, announced a $1.5 million fully subscribed, non-brokered private placement from executives. In addition, s<\/span>tartup veteran Thomas Kenny and CMO of Pendo Jake Sorofman have joined MediaValet\u2019s Board of Directors.<\/p>\n

Conavi Medical<\/b><\/p>\n

FedDev Ontario has announced the support of Conavi Medical<\/a>, a Toronto-based medical technology development and manufacturing company. The Government of Ontario will be providing more than $3.9 million in order for the company to expand its production facility for its two primary innovations: Novasight Hybrid<\/span>TM<\/span> and ForesightICE<\/span>TM<\/span>. These systems enhance the personalization of medical treatments by collect imaging data to enable better visualization during cardiovascular procedures.<\/span><\/p>\n
