The Ontario government has announced an update to its Second Career Program designed to support people looking to transform their lives and pursue careers in a new industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf you\u2019re prepared to put in the work, time, and effort to learn the skills that will help you land a good job to support yourself and your family, our government is prepared to put in the money and give you every opportunity to see it through.” <\/blockquote>

Applicants may be awarded up to $28,000 to cover tuition and other relevant expenses including childcare, disability-related support or accommodation near their training. Eligible programs include those running 52 weeks or less\u2013including BrainStation bootcamps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Ontario is facing the greatest labour shortage in a generation, especially in important industries like technology,” Ontario Minister of Labour, Training & Skills Development Monte McNaughton told BrainStation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We know meaningful careers provide people with purpose and the tools to build better lives for themselves, strong families, and stronger communities for us all. That is why our government is doubling down on successful programs such as Second Career, which provide people with the support they need to get training and skills for well-paying jobs in this sector.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This new announcement will see an additional $5 million invested into Second Career, potentially allowing thousands of Ontarians new access to the resources and programs they need to learn new skills and find lifelong jobs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why we are planning to expand the Second Career Program to offer much better access for those whose employment barriers may have been made worse by the pandemic.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With a focus on helping students enter the technology industry and prepare for a digital future, BrainStation\u2019s 12-week career transformation bootcamps provide hands-on, comprehensive training for several in-demand digital skill sets, including data, product, development, design and digital marketing. <\/p>\n\n\n\nBrainStation Bootcamp programs are offered both online and in person.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
BrainStation\u2019s Career Success Team also helps graduates prepare for their career search with industry networking opportunities, resume and application support, mock interviews, and more. Courses are offered both online and in-person at our downtown Toronto campus, led by skilled educators at the top of their respective fields. Second Career can help you cover the costs of enrolling in a BrainStation bootcamp that will prepare you for a new role in software engineering, web development, digital marketing, UX design, data science, and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
