{"id":14905,"date":"2010-01-19T03:01:00","date_gmt":"2010-01-19T11:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/?p=14905"},"modified":"2010-01-19T08:01:57","modified_gmt":"2010-01-19T04:01:57","slug":"thoora-the-google-of-canada","status":"publish","type":"magazine","link":"https:\/\/brainstation.io\/magazine\/thoora-the-google-of-canada","title":{"rendered":"Thoora &#8211; The Google of Canada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a bold statement to make but it is one that Thoora founder and CTO Chul Lee stated with boldness and conviction:&nbsp; &#8220;We want Thoora to be the Google of Canada.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This past weekend, Chul was a featured session speaker at <a href=\"http:\/\/2010.epictech.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>EPIC<\/strong><\/a>&#8216;s EpCon 2010 conference in Waterloo, Ontario.&nbsp; For 30 minutes Chul described the evolution of media from legacy to Web 1.0 to social media to Thoora.&nbsp; <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right;\" src=\"http:\/\/a3.twimg.com\/profile_images\/585708645\/logo-head_bigger_bigger.png\" alt=\"thoora\" width=\"157\" height=\"157\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/beta.thoora.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Thoora.com<\/strong><\/a> tracks news from tens of thousands of traditional (legacy) news sources.&nbsp; It then ranks them according to their popularity via mentions on blogs, blog commentary and Twitter mentions.
