Terms of the deal, along with when the acquisition plans began are   unknown, however, the acquisition was concluded in August. This   coincides with Google&#8217;s acquisition of both social apps company Slide and   social currency company Jambool.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>It turns out that Google got some of its NFC expertise from a  Toronto-based startup it acquired called ZetaWire, according to  information <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.the451group.com\/techdeals\/ma\/google-adds-to-nfc-with-zetawire\/\">uncovered<\/a> by tech analysts at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.the451group.com\/\">451 Group<\/a>.   A notice from Zetawire&rsquo;s law firm, Fenwick and West, mentioned the  acquisition.  The price was not disclosed, but it was likely very small,  with only 2 to 4 employees.
