Apple skyrocketed 129% and now ranks second behind only Coca-Cola, while Samsung jumped 40% to crack the top 10, nestling into 9th place between Toyota and Intel.<\/p>\n<p>Technology firms dominated the top 10 brands. IBM, up 8%, ranks third, while Google, up 26%, ranked fourth. Microsoft, the only top-10 tech firm to be down (2%), ranks fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Apple&#8217;s brand value is $76.6 billion. BlackBerrys is now less than $4 billion.<\/p>\n<p>This report isn&#8217;t the end-all and be-all. It&#8217;s just one calculation from one consulting firm. But it accurately echoes the general sentiment surrounding Waterloo-based Research In Motion, and it&#8217;s more bad publicity at a bad time.<\/p>\n<p>The glimpses we&#8217;ve seen <a href=\"http:\/\/www.techvibes.com\/blog\/a-glimpse-of-research-in-motions-blackberry-10-in-action-2012-09-26\" target=\"_blank\">of BB10 are impressive<\/a>; we&#8217;re excited for the launch.
