In the top 20, there are the founders of Google, Sergey Brin (19th) and Larry Page (17th), who combine for a net worth of more than $64 billion, as well as Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, whose net worth is nestled between theirs (18th) at $32 billion.<\/p>\n

Larry Ellison, the man behind Oracle, is way up there: at number five, Ellison is worth a cool $48 billion. And who can forget Bill Gates, who has returned to his spot as world’s richest man with a net worth of $76 billion. While Gates isn’t super active in tech anymore, he’ll probably always be known first as the creator of Microsoft.<\/p>\n

Others still include Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg, Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer, and Dell’s Michael Dell.<\/p>\n

Amazingly, though, Forbes doesn’t offer “Technology” as a filter for its list<\/a>—yet offers categories like “gaming,” which are more specific, and “politics,” which only lists a single person ranked 731st.<\/p>\n

In Canada, there isn’t a single billionaire who’s a tech founder since BlackBerry’s Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie fell off the list after the smartphone maker’s shares tanked.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
