{"id":56002,"date":"2014-06-03T02:06:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-03T10:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/?p=56002"},"modified":"2014-06-09T07:06:26","modified_gmt":"2014-06-09T03:06:26","slug":"hootsuite-changes-logo","status":"publish","type":"magazine","link":"https:\/\/brainstation.io\/magazine\/hootsuite-changes-logo","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Sophisticated&#8217; Rebrand: HootSuite Changes Logo for First Time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 14px 39px; float: right;\" src=\"https:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3838\/14340369895_12d78cff9e_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"322\" height=\"215\" \/>HootSuite has changed its logo for the first time since launching six years ago.<\/p>\n<p>The Vancouver-based social media management platform has turned its mascot, Owly, into a darker and more serious version of itself.<\/p>\n<p><!-- pagebreak --><\/p>\n<p>The new logo, which has been in the works for six months, reflects HootSuite&#8217;s maturing into a &#8220;sophisticated organization&#8221; and its growing appeal to enterprises, who now account for more than half of the company&#8217;s revenue, according to Dee Anna McPherson, the startup&#8217;s vice president of marketing, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedrum.com\/news\/2014\/06\/03\/hootsuite-rebrands-reflect-serious-side-social-media\" target=\"_blank\">in The Drum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>SEE ALSO: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.techvibes.com\/blog\/ryan-holmes-marc-benioff-hootsuite-salesforce-2014-05-21\" target=\"_blank\">Ryan Holmes Calls Out Salesforce&#8217;s Marc Benioff<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The logo is shown in black and white and apparently that&#8217;s the final version&mdash;no more bright colours or funky outfits which Owly became famous for.<\/p>\n<p>Vancouver-based design agency&nbsp;Vigilantes handled the rebrand.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We wanted the image to be more grown up without losing any brand equity,&#8221; Arndt Klos, head of brand strategy and design at Vigilantes, <a href=\"http:\/\/adage.com\/article\/btob\/hootsuite-targets-c-suite-rebrand\/293501\/\" target=\"_blank\">told Ad Age<\/a>. &#8220;We didn&#8217;t want it to be overly corporate. It wasn&#8217;t a traditional logo mark, it was more of a mascot.
