On top of that, half of Canadians consider having their conversation interrupted by a cellphone check is more rude than being told to shut up.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.telus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/KIIYP-Survey-Insights-June-25_2014.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">According to the survey<\/a>, Canadians are more than twice as likely to whip out their smartphones around friends and family than when at work.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, while 90% of Canadians think others are annoying when they use their smartphone in public, 40% don&rsquo;t believe their own smartphone use bothers others.
