{"id":63073,"date":"2015-06-23T10:06:00","date_gmt":"2015-06-23T06:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/?p=63073"},"modified":"2015-06-23T09:06:31","modified_gmt":"2015-06-24T05:06:31","slug":"suretap-looks-to-advance-mobile-digital-wallet-trend-in-canada-with-support-of-major-carriers","status":"publish","type":"magazine","link":"https:\/\/brainstation.io\/magazine\/suretap-looks-to-advance-mobile-digital-wallet-trend-in-canada-with-support-of-major-carriers","title":{"rendered":"Suretap Looks to Advance Mobile Digital Wallet Trend in Canada with Support of Major Carriers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 11px 22px; float: right;\" src=\"https:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/294\/19087254032_41ec9064eb_o.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"177\" \/>Suretap has oficially gained the support of Canada&#8217;s &#8220;Big Three&#8221; wireless carriers.<\/p>\n<p><!-- pagebreak --><\/p>\n<p>The new&nbsp;Suretap wallet enables smartphone owners to make secure mobile payments using a wide range of virtual and encrypted credit cards, gift cards, and soon debit cards, loyalty cards, digital coupons and deals.<\/p>\n<p>Bell, Rogers, and Telus, are now offering the suretap wallet across 30 Android and BlackBerry smartphones, with other device platforms expected to follow by the end of 2015.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to strong wireless carrier support, suretap announced a new partnership with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce today, expanding the credit cards options available through the suretap wallet.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Suretap has gained and continues to gain substantial support and participation from a growing ecosystem of Canadian companies that embrace our application&#8217;s open and technology agnostic model,&#8221; said Jeppe Dorff, President of Suretap.<\/p>\n<p>Canada ranks number two in MasterCard Worldwide&#8217;s Global Mobile Payments Readiness Index. Canada has a broad deployment of contactless payment terminals across approximately 75 percent of major retailers, according to Jupiter Research. Smartphone penetration in Canada is 73 percent, according to J.D. Power &amp; Associates in its Canadian Wireless Total Ownership Experience Study.<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;Suretap wallet uses Near Field Communication technology which is immediately compatible with all contactless payment terminals; it also uses barcodes and QR codes for the compatibility to transact with retailer infra-red scanners.<\/p>\n<p>Physical and online retailers such as SIR Corp (who carry Jack Astor&#8217;s, Scaddabush, Far Niente and more), Cara Operations (who carry Swiss Chalet, Milestone&#8217;s and more), Indigo, Cineplex, Forever 21, Groupon, and others have also signed up to participate in the multi-partner program and are available in the suretap wallet.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Suretap has oficially gained the support of Canada&#8217;s &#8220;Big Three&#8221; wireless carriers.
