But it has done so while maintaining our fundamental commitment to welcoming immigrants\u2014through increased background checks and other controls on people seeking to enter our country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, who also signed the brief, last week <a href=\"https:\/\/borndigital.com\/2017\/02\/02\/uber-ceo-leaving-president-donald-trumps-advisory-council\">stepped down from Trump&#8217;s advisory council<\/a> after facing criticism.
