Dialpad has opened their cloud-based phone lines in Canada.<\/p>\n
The San Francisco-based\u00a0company announced today\u00a0the expansion of its enterprise cloud phone system for businesses,\u00a0including establishing a new office in Vancouver\u00a0to support national customer growth.<\/p>\n
Dialpad combines voice, video, messaging, meetings and document sharing through a single application, integrating with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite.<\/p>\n
The company’s\u00a0move to Canada comes at a time where IT spending in the country is expected to grow\u00a0to $65 billion by 2020,\u00a0the result of\u00a0a five-year growth period creating 50,000 net-new jobs.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe see Canada as a massively underdeveloped market for our breakthrough pure-cloud communications service. Canada is one of the largest telecommunications markets in the world, representing a massive opportunity to scale Dialpad across the provinces,\u201d said Craig Walker, CEO of Dialpad.<\/p>\n
Dialpad is currently operating in 39 area codes across the country.\u00a0The company offers flat-rate calling to\u00a0users and presents a new alternative for Canadian companies that Walker said have been saddled by\u00a0legacy telephone system constraints.<\/p>\n
“They have been unable to break the cycle of overpriced monthly service fees and confusing long-distance calling plans,” Walker said.<\/p>\n
Dialpad\u00a0recruited Erik Lagerway to head the 20-person Vancouver office. The\u00a0local\u00a0telecom startup veteran\u00a0co-founded Counterpath.<\/p>\n
