Canadians can now add Amazon Cash to their Amazon.ca balance\u00a0at any Canada\u00a0Post retail location in the country.<\/p>\n
The cash option is being powered by Payment Source’s Loadhub, a pay-in-person solution, and extends Amazon’s reach in Canada.\u00a0The partnership is giving un-banked Canadians\u00a0the opportunity to shop digitally by loading money into their online account.<\/p>\n
The new option is rolling out to 6,000 brick-and-mortar\u00a0Post locations, serving 98 per cent of the country.<\/p>\n
“Offering Canadians a convenient way to pay for online purchases with cash or debit is a key step towards financial inclusion,” said Trevor Cook, CEO of Payment Source, in a statement.<\/p>\n
“The benefits of e-commerce should not be restricted to Canadians with access to a credit card. Amazon Cash brings that online shopping experience to everyone,” he added.<\/p>\n
Amazon Cash is geared toward Canadians outside the credit system, making up 10 per cent of the population in 2016, according to a recent TransUnion report. That group may include recent immigrants or students who don’t have a credit card yet, but are interested in shopping online.<\/p>\n
Amazon Cash first launched in the U.S. in April\u00a0and rolled out to the U.K. as the Top Up in-store program this August.<\/p>\n
Using their unique Amazon Cash barcode, customers can add between $15 and $500 in a single transaction with no service fee. Using Loadhub, the funds are available within seconds and never\u00a0expire.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
