Canada Post Reveals 2013 E-commerce Innovation Award Finalists

Canada Post is giving away $1 million in prizes to online retailers as part of their E-commerce Innovation Awards and they have announced the 2013 finalists.

27 finalists have been singled out for their bold and innovative approaches to enhancing the online shopping experience in Canada.

Winners will receive lucrative shipping contracts worth up to $100,000, customized direct marketing packages—which include data and targeting solutions—as well as valuable marketing prizes.

Among the finalists competing across six categories are some online brands that are very familiar with our readers:

  • Best Multi-channel Retailer – Large: Vancouver’s ClearlyContacts.ca
  • Best E-tailer – Large: Montréal’s Frank & Oak, Toronto’s Well.ca, and Montréal’s Beyond the Rack
  • Best E-tailer – Small: Boucherville’s Minitrade.ca and Ottawa’s BookMob
  • Most Innovative Retailer – Large: Toronto’s Well.ca

Winners will be chosen by a panel of five industry experts and announced at a gala at the Metro Convention Centre in Toronto on September 25, hosted by award-winning broadcaster James Duthie of TSN.

The judging panel includes Rafe Petkovic (Google Canada); Josh Bloom (Facebook Canada); Stéphane Ricoul (Sid Lee Technologies, also Co-founder and President, eComMTL); Duncan Payne (Hut2Hut Events and DX3 Co-founder); and Siobhan Vinish (Postmedia Network).
