Democamp Toronto 27 hosts VC Fred Wilson
Democamp is a series of events throughout the year with the goal of helping people find other “interesting” people in their community. First, a well-known individual in the tech/business field shares experiences. Later, startups from the community demos their product, get feedback and network with the crowd.
The demos at Democamp Toronto 27 are:
- TaskAve – winner of the recent Startup Weekend Toronto
- Guestlistapp – Toronto event registration app
- Visibli – formerly Assetize, funded by Extreme Venture Partners
- Top Hat Monocle – Waterloo Mobile App Developer
- Data Literacy – Open Data project
This time around, Fred Wilson will present his Top 10 Features for a Web App. Wilson is a New York-based VC who helps start and build technology businesses. Being a VC from 1986, he is now a managing Partner of two venture capital firms, Flatiron Partners and Union Square Ventures.
A few of the companies in the Union Square Ventures portfolio are Disqus, Foursquare, Meetup, Tumblr, Twitter and Zynga. Shout out to William Mougayar for bringing Wilson up to Toronto!
