Local Logic Raises Seed Round to Bring Artificial Intelligence to Urban Planning

Local Logic has raised $1.15 million.

The two-year-old startup’s seed capital hails primarily from Cycle Capital Management and saw contributions from BDC, 500 Startups Canada, and Yellow Pages.

The Montreal company says the funding will enable it to grow its team and expand into more North American markets.

Local Logic uses artificial intelligence to map cities with big data, enabling smarter urban planning.

“Local Logic’s mission is to help consumers, real estate companies, investors and urban planners to make better decisions by enriching their understanding of cities and citizens’ needs,” said Vincent-Charles Hodder, a cofounder.

“We believe that the analysis of urban big data is a key element in the management of smart cities and that this technology has a lot of potential for various applications,” said Andrée-Lise Méthot, founder and associate director of Cycle Capital Management.
