Technicolor’s visual effects studio Moving Picture Co. has announced plans for expansion and they’re coming North.
MPC Vancouver will move early next year into a 48,000-square-foot facility at 1132 Hamilton Street in Yaletown – the former MINI dealership. With more than 300 artists in Vancouver, MPC will become the city’s largest vfx facility.
According to a report in Variety Magazine today, visual effects and animation work is flowing to Vancouver, drawn by Canada’s incentives. Besides MPC, Pixar and Digital Domain also have branches in Vancouver.
