Edmonton’s Mover Raises Money from Vancouver’s Yaletown Ventures

Vancouver-based venture capital firm Yaletown Ventures has made an investment in Mover, an Edmonton-based startup that helps users move files in the cloud.

“We are pleased to announce out investment in Mover, which provides a platform for moving and synchronizing files between cloud services,” said Yaletown Ventures.

Mover can be used to change cloud-storage providers, back up websites and files, all while reducing user anxiety about how and where data is being transferred, according to the VC firm. Enterprise customers use the Canadian startup’s “as a service” software when consolidating data from multiple cloud storage accounts, migrating to new cloud storage platforms, and disseminating content, Mover says.

Mover graduated from Vancouver-based accelerator GrowLab in 2012.
