Omers Closes Third Venture Capital Fund with $300 Committed
Omers Ventures has successfully closed its third fund.
The fund boasts $300 million in commitments and includes some major co-investors such as BMO Financial Group, CIBC, and National Bank of Canada.
“Raising Fund III was a tremendous success that speaks to the strength and stability of the Canadian tech community,” John Ruffolo, chief executive officer of Omers Ventures, said. “We are proud to operate on a Canada-first mandate, and are ready to meet new companies and deploy the next $300 million into the innovation economy.”
Over six years, Omers has invested in 35 companies across North America. These companies have raised more than a billion dollars combined and have created several thousand jobs.
“When we launched in 2011, the ecosystem was starved for venture capital and corporate participation,” said Ruffolo. “Six years later, our third fund is oversubscribed, complete with strategic investors and corporate partners.”
