SceneDoc Raises $4 Million for Crime Scene Mobile Software
Toronto’s SceneDoc today announced the completion of a $4 million Series A round of funding led by iGan Partners, with participation from Motorola Solutions Venture Capital and a group of angel investors.
SceneDoc is a smartphone/tablet-based software platform that provides law enforcement a highly secure, accurate and consistent means of documenting crime, accident and other incident scenes.
Dubbed “public safety’s trusted digital notebook,” SceneDoc provides much more than simple documentation capabilities. With a highly configurable ‘mobile-first’ application coupled with cloud-based data backup and administration, SceneDoc enables near real-time communication between officers in the field, dispatchers, command centers and other public safety/law enforcement agencies.
This results in a more efficient evidence collection and reporting process, increases preparedness and improves officer safety.
The company will use the funding to expand its sales and marketing efforts, bring its SceneDoc investigation and field documentation platform to new global markets, and accelerate product development.
“This funding will enable SceneDoc to realize its goal of becoming the de facto technology platform that unifies field documentation and communication,” said Alex Kottoor, co-founder and CEO of SceneDoc.
“We’re seeing tremendous demand, on a global scale, from law enforcement and public safety agencies for a mobile-first solution that creates efficiencies and enhances preparedness for supporting agencies and specialized units that are often called to respond to an incident.”
