Toronto-based Wave announced today the launch of a new iOS application that accepts credit card payments on the go: Payments by Wave for iOS.
Integrated seamlessly with the full Wave ecosystem of small business software, the app allows small business owners to process credit card payments, record cash payments, and issue receipts, all from their mobile devices.
“That endless to-do list is a killer for small business owners. It’s stressful, it’s never-ending and it’s entirely unnecessary,” says Wave CEO Kirk Simpson. “With Payments by Wave now available for iOS, not only can small business owners get paid on the spot, but the extra record-keeping steps are automatically taken care of for them.”

With Payments by Wave for iOS, it’s possible for any small business owner to accept all major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard and American Express. With smart integrated systems, as soon as the credit card is processed or the cash is received, their accounting is updated, and they’re done.
Founded in November 2010, Wave has secured venture funding and board leadership from the Social+Capital partnership from Silicon Valley, Charles River Ventures from Boston, and OMERS Ventures from Toronto. According to today’s press release Wave has 1.5 million users on its platform.
