BrainStation Vancouver Opens Doors to Granville Street Campus
Granville Street just got a little smarter.
Brainstation Vancouver has officially opened the doors to its new campus in the city’s downtown core. Although Brainstation launched in Vancouver more than three years ago, it wasn’t until recently that the company was ready to expand into a permanent location.
The new space at Granville & Pender was unveiled at a launch party last week and was the result of a year-long site selection and build-out process. The 20,000 square-foot campus includes classrooms, event space, meeting rooms, and a rooftop–all rentable spaces when Brainstation courses are out of session.
The digital skills education business offers training for individuals and organizations through its events, workshops, courses and corporate training. According to Brainstation Vancouver’s General Manager Kyle Treleaven, the demand for their services is only increasing.
“It is predicted that 54,000 new tech jobs will be created in the province by 2020, and we will be doing our part to help support that growth” said Treleaven at the launch event, “It has been amazing to be a part of this community for three years and evolving into our new campus creates a space to support the fastest growing industry in Vancouver.”
Although Brainstation’s global headquarters remain in Toronto, the Vancouver office was designed specifically for the local technology ecosystem.
“Brainstation’s mission is to empower the world with the skills needed to thrive in a connected and fast-paced digital economy,” said Jason Field, Founder & CEO. “This new campus will give us even more opportunities to equip Vancouver’s working professionals with the cutting edge skills needed to continue elevating the city as a technology hub.”
The event was co-hosted by BrainStation’s sibling company Quantum Coffee, which also opened the doors to its first Vancouver location last week.
