Canadian App Takes Number One Spot on Top 25 All-Time Apple Apps

Canadian-born Pelmorex’s Weather Network earned an excellent accolade from Apple this week. The iOS maker revealed it’s Top 25 All-Time Paid Apps and Top 25 All-Time Paid Apps for the iPad and iPhone—and WN was number one for free iPad apps. It also scored number three on free iPhone apps, behind only social network heavyweights Facebook and Skype.

WeatherEye HD out-dueled the famous Angry Birds for the top spot, a feat few can claim. The newly revamped app has two million unique users on the iPhone, which sees 100 million pageviews per month. The iPad version has more than 300,000 unique visitors and nine million pageviews per month. Total downloads are more than 20 million.

The Weather Network app is also available for Android devices.
