Cascadia Summit Promises to Close Vancouver Startup Week with Fireworks
Launch Academy, Plug and Play, and Boast Capital will be hosting Cascadia Summit as the official closing event of Vancouver Startup Week.
The event will happen on Friday, November 21—the same week that Techvbes will host a Startup Week-themed Tech Fest hiring fair. Cascadia is a premiere startup event where the most promising startups from Western Canada and the US showcase to an audience of 500 investors, entrepreneurs, corporations, and media. Previous Cascadia winners have included Farm at Hand, Nanu Interactive, and BitLit, with all continuing on to raise millions of dollars in funding.
“Startup Week is a really exciting time for everyone in this industry, so we figured there was no better way for it to go out with a bang than with a high-energy showcase of some of the top up-and-coming startups.” says Launch Academy Executive Director, Ray Walia.
Special guests Sumeet Jain, Director at Intel Capital; Mahendra Ramsinghani, author of The Business of Venture Capital and co-author of Startup Boards; and Alireza Masrour, Managing Partner at Plug and Play Ventures will share their insights on the future of startup investing. Additionally, Plug and Play Ventures has offered to invest in the top startups from the pitch contest.
The pitching startups, selected by a committee of investors and successful entrepreneurs, will be publicly announced on Nov 1; entrepreneurs can apply here by Friday, Oct 15.
The first 25 tickets are $25 each.
