DHX Media Strikes Deal with Netflix for More Canadian Content
Canada’s DHX Media, with offices in Halifax, Toronto, and Vancouver, has signed a content deal with Netflix. DHX, an independent producer, distributor, and licensor of children’s entertainment content, will add three preschool series to the American-born video-streaming service. Franny’s Feet, Bo On The Go! and Mighty Jungle will expand Netflix’s library of kids’ entertainment.
“Netflix is leading the rapid expansion of the video on demand space and we are joining a notable line up of film and TV titles on the service,” Josh Scherba, SVP Distribution at DHX Media said. “Digital audiences are growing significantly and we anticipate increasing demand for kids’ content which is ideally suited to on-demand delivery. We look forward to building our partnership with Netflix as we augment our presence in this new distribution channel for entertainment content.”
Bo on the Go! uses motion capture technology and CGI to promote active lifestyles for preschoolers. Mighty Jungle uses lively, colourful puppet animals to reflect the spirit of adventure of play. And Franny’s Feet is about trying on different pairs of shoes, each pair of which leads to a new adventure.
