Drone Film Festival Comes To Toronto
Break out your camera-enabled drones, have your favourite orchestral scores and electronic music ready, and hit the skies to film your magnum opus, because the Toronto Drone Film Festival is coming to Toronto.
The Big Drone Show, happening Sept. 27 and 28 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, is adding to its growing list of events and activities this year with the addition of a drone-only film festival.
The Sky Guys Ltd. are among Canada’s leaders in drone technology, and they have partnered with Cambridge House International to host the Toronto Drone Film Festival.
“As part of the Big Drone Show, the Toronto Drone Film Festival aims to highlight the best in aerial cinematography,” said Adam Sax, President and CEO of The Sky Guys. “We are offering an international platform for filmmakers from around the world to showcase their work in front of industry professionals, the drone community and an extensive media network.”
Some of the categories to submit videos for include narrative, documentary/news, and landscape.
Submissions for the festival open up on Aug. 1 and close on Sept. 15, with the winner being announced at a Big Drone Show reception on Sept. 27. The prize pool is over $5000, along with a top of the line DJI Phantom 4 drone. If you want to submit, you can head here.
