Former Stanley Cup Champion Joins Canadian Startup

You’re a former Stanley Cup Champion and hung up your skates three years ago. What do you do with your spare time?

If you’re former Vancouver Canuck defenseman Bret Hedican, you join app developer Ian Bell’s Rosterbot team and start telling the world about your online amateur sports team and group manager. After all, Eric Lindros works in tech and he doesn’t even have a Stanley Cup ring.

Hedican, Bell, and Chad Lindstrom have launched version 2.0 of Rosterbot, a free online service that provides a simple interface for managing everything from a men’s league hockey team to your weekly Friday night poker group.

Former Techvibes writer Steve Dotto recently interviewed Hedican via Skype and to discuss how Rosterbot works.
