Politik Presents the Canadian Premiere of Award Winning ‘Give Me Shelter’ Documentary in Edmonton
Politik, a global technology media company headquartered in Los Angeles, is pleased to present the official Canadian premiere of Katie Cleary’s award winning short documentary Give Me Shelter.
“Give Me Shelter” and the inaugural edition of “Subculture” – Edmonton’s biggest ever-retro dance party – will be held in Edmonton at El Cortez Cantina on November 6, 2015.
“Give Me Shelter” is a film to raise awareness for some of the most important animal welfare issues world-wide. It also shines a light on the people who dedicate their lives every day to rescue, rehabilitate or care for these animals while being a voice for the voiceless.
The film stars Oscar Winner Ric O’Barry, best know for his work on “The Cove”, Actress Tippi Hedren, Alison Eastwood, Esai Morales, Michael Vartan, Robert Davi and many more animal advocates lending their name to the cause. “Give Me Shelter” premiered on Netflix, iTunes and Amazon on May 1 and is “profoundly moving”, according to actress Nikki Reid.
Katie Cleary, star of America’s Next Top Model and one of People’s 50 Most Beautiful People, is also the Founder of World Animal News and Peace4Animals. In addition to hosting the November 6 event in Edmonton, Katie will be hosting Politik’s upcoming Interzone and Substance events in Vancouver and Los Angeles.
“Give Me Shelter is anything but a light hearted animal film, said Cleary. “We are exposing some serious issues and painful topics that the public is not aware of, but that need to be exposed. The Politik ecosystem wants to create a social movement and guide more people to action so that help is given to all animals in need.”
“We are looking forward to burning down the El Cortez, ruffling a few human feathers, and putting an end to the barbaric Canadian seal hunt once and for all on November 6,” concluded Robert Brennan Hart, CEO of Politik.
Registration to the official Canadian premiere of “Give Me Shelter” is now open online.
