Kevin Scott, SVP at LinkedIn, to Become Chief Technology Officer of Microsoft

LinkedIn’s blending with Microsoft marches on, most recently at the executive level: Kevin Scott, the senior vice president of infrastructure for LinkedIn, is now the chief technology officer of Microsoft.

Scott, who will report directly to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, will retain his role at LinkedIn and remain a member of its executive management team.

Scott, who formerly worked at Google and AdMob, is also an advisor to Silicon Valley startups and has made angel investments.

Microsoft acquired LinkedIn for $26 billion in a historic transaction last June. The deal closed late last year, so 2017 will see the two tech titans continue to integrate.
