This week Ladies Learning Code announced an new partnership with Scotiabank which will help bring their vision of digital literacy to even more Canadian youth this year.

On the heels of the announcement of its Digital Factory in Toronto, it’s clear that Scotiabank has the courage to innovate and support the technology industry in Canada in a big way. When fully operational in mid-2016, the Scotiabank Digital Factory will include a team of over 350 professionals working to develop innovative solutions for the Bank and its customers, both independently and through partnership with FinTech companies.

Scotiabank has also committed to supporting Ladies Learning Code and their goal to reach 200,000 learners by 2020 through new and groundbreaking programming for youth.
In partnership with Scotiabank, this spring Ladies Learning Code will be launching code:clubs – a technology education program that can be run anywhere. Created with teachers, educators and parents in mind, code:clubs programs are designed to be facilitated by non-technical educators and youth program managers within schools, community centres, day-cares or at home at lunchtime, afterschool, evenings or weekends.
Ladies Learning Code’s goal is to provide girls and boys ages 8-13 across Canada with critical learning opportunities to develop skills they need to navigate our increasingly digital world. And empowering non-technical and technical educators with the tools they need to run these programs means there’s no school or community center in Canada Ladies Learning Code can’t support.
