Microsoft Unveils Xbox One X, the ‘World’s Most Powerful Console’

Just ahead of this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, Microsoft unveiled the Xbox One X, which it describes as “the world’s most powerful console” for gaming.

The One X, which will retail for $499, supports 4K gaming. The console includes a 1TB harddrive, a wireless controller, an HDMI cable, and a one-month Game Pass subscription.

The One X boasts 40% more power than any other console, according to Microsoft, yet is smaller than the One S and can be placed horizontally or vertically

“Games play better on Xbox One X,” says Albert Penello, Senior Director, Xbox Console Marketing. “It’s the first time we’ve engineered a system around today’s cutting-edge engines and the blockbuster titles you already love.”

All existing Xbox One games will be compatible with One X, Microsoft says.

The console is slated to launch in November.
