Pinterest Raises Additional $200 Million, Now Valued at $2.5 Billion Without Any Revenue
Pinterest has raised $200 million in a financing round that now values the company at approximately $2.5 billion.
The funding was led by Valiant Capital Management. Existing investors Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, and FirstMark Capital also participated in the round.
At $2.5 billion, Pinterest is now worth more than Zynga, Yelp, and Pandora—and it hasn’t even generated any revenue yet.
“We think we’ll build a really big business in discovering and curating all the things people love in their lives,” Heitzmann told Bloomberg. “It’s really resonating with people.”
Last year, Pinterest raised about $100 million. That round valued the San Francisco-based startup at roughly $1.5 billion.
