Preorders Open for Xbox One X, Including Limited Edition Scorpio Design
Microsoft this week announced that global preorders for Xbox One X are officially open today.
The announcement, made at Gamescom, included an unveiling of a limited edition, fan-inspired console design dubbed Project Scorpio. There’s also a Minecraft version. Both designs appear limited to preorders.
The souped-up Xbox, priced at $499 in the US, was first revealed in June at E3. According to Microsoft, more than 100 new and existing Xbox One titles will be enhanced for One X, including Halo 5, NBA 2K18, and Star Wars Battlefront II.
“When we announced Project Scorpio last year, we were overwhelmed by the excitement from our fans,” said Mike Nichols, Microsoft’s corporate vice president and chief marketing officer at Xbox. “We designed the Project Scorpio Edition for fans to celebrate both our heritage and the power and precision that we are bringing into our future.”
The Xbox One X—which Microsoft claims is “the most powerful console ever made”—is slated to ship in early November.
