RBC Introduces Siri Bill Payments and iMessage Money Transfers
It seems as if Siri is becoming more of a personal assistant every single day.
A new update to the Royal Bank of Canada’s (RBC) mobile app now allows customers to ask Siri to pay their bills on an iPhone or iPad.
RBC has also launched the ability to seamlessly transfer money within iMessage using the Interac e-Transfer method. This is all in an effort to develop the simplest and most innovative methods for customers to make payments on mobile devices.
“By offering bill payments through Siri and P2P transfers through iMessage, we’re providing more convenient solutions to support our client’s payment needs,” says Sean Amato-Gauci, executive vice-president of Cards, Payments and Banking at RBC. “By giving clients the ability to seamlessly and conveniently bank using voice commands, we’re delivering simple and innovative solutions.”
Paying bills with Siri is painless, unless of course you have massive phone charges or left your lights on all month. Once you give a voice command, Siri will confirm a payee from your list and the RBC mobile app automatically deducts the amount and sends it over. The whole process is protected through TouchID.
Sending a money transfer is just as easy. Just type the amount of money you want to transfer in the iMessage window of your recipient, then authenticate it with TouchID.
These new money transfer and payment methods come straight from RBC’s innovation labs. The RBC mobile app recently won the Highest Customer Satisfaction Award among Canadian apps.
