Thalmic Labs Graduates from VeloCity Garage, Opens Waterloo Office

Today, Thalmic Labs announced that it is moving out of the VeloCity Garage.

The 25-person team is moving into an interim space on King Street near City Hall. According to the Canadian startup, they are waiting until October for a space on Charles Street to be finished.

Three 2012 graduates of the Mechatronics program at the University of Waterloo—Stephen Lake, Aaron Grant and Matthew Bailey—founded Thalmic Labs, which participated in the renowned Y Combinator program, before raising a record-breaking $14 million Series A round.

“The Thalmic team has grown steadily over the past six months and with over 25 people they are very squished in the VeloCity Garage amongst the other 28 companies,” says Mike Kirkup, director of the Garage. “We couldn’t be more proud and excited for Thalmic Labs as they move into their own place and continue to build this amazing company.”
