Everyone Wanted This Song from a Tim Hortons Hockey Commercial So a Full Version Was Made

A new Tim Hortons commercial featuring Sidney Crosby with more than 300,000 views on YouTube features a song that became so demanded by viewers, the Canadian coffee chain decided to commission a full version and make it available to everyone for free.

Tim Hortons has made a full-length version of “Let’s Run” available to download for free through Sound Cloud. “Let’s Run” is an original song produced by music house Grayson Matthews on behalf of Tim Hortons for the commercial, which features Sidney Crosby jumping the boards alongside real Canadian hockey fans.

“Right from the very first day our Tim Hortons Sidney Crosby spot aired, our guests have been tweeting us and posting messages on Facebook and YouTube asking for the song,” says Rob Forbes, Senior Director, Marketing and National Programs, Tim Hortons. “We’re thrilled that the music has struck a chord with Canadians, and for that reason we wanted to produce a full-length version and provide it as a free download.”

Here are the song’s lyrics.

“Let’s Run” Lyrics

The northern lights are calling

The siren screams our name

The drums keep on pounding

You will know our name

Let us run let us run

Til’ the ends have come undone

And we’ve let the world know that we will not be overcome

We stand on frozen ground

With fire in our eyes

We fall into line our feet stomping in time

A million voices shout out

Yeah, this is our sign

Let us run let us run

Til’ the ends have come undone

And we’ve let the world know that we will not be overcome

Let us run, let us run, let us run…

We run till they can’t hide

Until the walls break down inside

We roll in like the tide

The waves our battle cry

We fall into line our feet stomping in time

A million voices shout out

Yeah, this is our night

Let us run let us run

Til’ the ends have come undone

And we’ve let the world know that we will not be overcome

Let us run let us run

Til’ the ends have come undone

And we’ve let the world know that we will not be overcome

Let us run, let us run, let us run…
